Finally, after heaps of application, SkyCity finally accepted me! I finally got a job, where I can earn some quick buck to spend and save a bit for future use or travelling. The point is, I got a job! You must be wondering what is SkyCity. I can say I'm very lucky myself,to be landed with SkyCity, a huge as company in New Zealand. Google SkyCity, heaps of information will pop up like mushroom after the rain.
I work as a casual waitress in the VIP casino and casual busser in the convention centre. Even though it says casual, I work 4 days a week sometimes 5 days, 7 hours a day and some overtime too. Tiring? Which job is not tiring, right? Every job is tiring. As long as you have fun while working then time will pass by faster.
I'm very happy to get this job, grateful too! Lesson learned - do not give up so easily, the right one will come along. If I give up half way applying, I probably won't get this job. PERSEVERE!! And thanks to my mother's encouragement words "things will be fine, it will fall right in!"
Anyhow, things gotten more interesting. Now I'm allow to do cashier because I have the swipe card. But I dislike most about the cashier work is the paper work after you cash out. Money, spend points, coupons calculations just ain't easy even though is just adding them up. *sighh...
Besides the work, I get to meet plentiful of interesting people, mainly elderly, some middle age too. Most of the people I see in my work place are regulars. They always hang around the casino, the same person, the same machine, the same food orders, the same drinks. I can literally know what they want when they come to the counter. I know they are old, they have nothing to do so they hang around here. Some even sleep in front of the machine. *funny sight.. But I need to clarify something here, despite their old age; most of them are SUPER friendly. And to my deduction, they come to the casino just to meet people of their age or to meet people to talk about their kids, their life and socialize. They are just AWESOME.:)
I have successfully widen my source of income. Besides my father, I have a job now. *laughs*
